Project Overview
Second Lecture is a purpose-driven mobile app that encourages the reuse and sharing of second-hand books between individuals. Its mission is to support sustainable consumption and community-driven exchange by making it easy for users to pass on books they no longer need.
The project involved enhancing the existing app interface, creating new functional screens, and developing promotional visuals for the App Store and Google Play. The challenge was to deliver a design that is intuitive, warm, and inclusive — accessible even to users with limited tech experience.
My Approach
I joined the project at a stage where a partial interface was already in place. I began by analyzing the existing structure, then moved on to designing complementary UI screens in Figma that aligned with the existing design system.
In addition, I created promotional visuals for both app stores, following platform guidelines and highlighting the app’s core values: simplicity, eco-consciousness, and community.
Key Highlights
Extended the app with new UI screens and components
Produced store-ready visuals aligned with Apple & Google Play guidelines
Emphasized sustainable values and community engagement
Outcome
The design helped reinforce Second Lecture’s positioning as a friendly and responsible app, appealing to both tech-savvy users and digital newcomers. The updated visuals contributed to a stronger presence in app stores, helping to attract users aligned with its eco-conscious mission.
